A reminder that the deadline for submitting a presentation proposal to the IASSID for its August 2000 Congress in Seattle, Washington (USA) is fast approaching -- Proposals are due NO LATER THAN the 31st of January 2000!
The Aging SIRG of the IASSID is looking forward to a robust and plentiful program of aging related papers at the Seattle Congress and urges you to consider submitting a presentation proposal on an aging-related topic. In addition to the publication of all abstracts in JIDR this year, the Aging SIRG has arranged for a selection of papers to be published in several journals. In addition to free papers and panel sessions, the IASSID SIRG program committee is organizing several symposia.
I would urge you to consider a submission before January 31st! Proposals have to be sent via mail or electronically to Neil Ross, the IASSID Program Chair, in Paris, France to that they reach Dr. Ross by the 31st. If you don't have a copy of the call for papers, you can obtain one from Neil at njross@compuserve.com (Neil Ross) . The Aging SIRG office also a limited number of copies (you can contact me at sirgaid@aol.com. You can also download the congress information from its web site at http://www.waisman.wisc.edu/iassid
Please remember to also send a copy of your aging related abstract to the SIRG office before the 27th of January -- electronic copies preferred - email them (in the body of your email) to sirgaid@aol.com .
As you may be aware, the IASSID Aging SIRG is not holding a roundtable in 2000 as the Congress program will serve that purpose. The 2001 Roundtable will be held in Israel. This roundtable will be held consecutively with the 2001 meeting of the International Society of Augmentative and Alternative Communication. The dates of the IASSID Aging Roundtable at March 19-22, 2001. More details will be forthcoming.
A note on the 2002 Roundtable -- Dr. Ryo Takahashi and his local committee is proposing to ask the SIRG to hold its 2002 Roundtable in Fukushima, Japan on March 13-15. He will be presenting his proposal at the SIRG's next business meeting in Seattle this August. Preceding the Roundtable, the Japanese organizing committee is proposing to hold a one-day conference in Tokyo on March 12th.
Please take mind to have your proposals in on time as the review and pre-Congress schedule is very tight and late arriving proposals will not be accepted.
